Tabasco Family Reserve Hot Sauce

TABASCO® brand products are made by McIlhenny Company, founded by Edmund McIlhenny in 1868 on Avery Island, Louisiana. It was here that he developed the recipe for TABASCO® Original Red Pepper Sauce that's been passed down from generation to generation. To this day, the company is still family-owned and -operated on that very same island. 

Back in the 1870's, before TABASCO® had become a worldwide staple, the people of Avery Island would refer to TABASCO® as "that famous sauce Mr. McIlhenny makes". Today, nearly 150 years later, TABASCO® Sauce, the basic recipe, the process by which it’s made, and the ingredients remain virtually unchanged. The aging process for the mash is longer – up to three years in white oak barrels – and the vinegar is high-quality distilled vinegar but the sauce is still known as that famous sauce.

Once reserved for the McIlhenny family and close friends, the TABASCO® brand Family Reserve Pepper Sauce blends premium ingredients to create an exclusive, limited edition flavour that you can only find here. 

Made from special, hand-selected peppers and salt, this unique pepper mash is aged for up to 8 years in white oak barrels, much longer than the normal 3 year aging process of their Original Red Sauce. The Family Reserve pepper mash is then blended with premium white wine vinegar, strained and bottled as a small batch.
